Here are a few photos from the OWS/Wildcat protest at Sara D. Roosevelt Park on May 1. There was no permit for this protest, so there was a large police presence. The event started out peaceful, but ended with several arrests before the group split up and spread throughout Chinatown and Soho.
Here, police stormed into the crowd and wrestled a young woman to the ground before dragging her away in plastic cuffs. I don't know why she was targeted.

Great May Day shots, Goggla, the cops are clearly out of control and it's sad none of the "mainstream" media is picking this up.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marty.
ReplyDeleteThere were a few bad incidents in the morning, but overall, I thought everyone was pretty well behaved. Considering the violence displayed by police at nearly every past OWS event, I though they were better prepared and handled themselves much better on this day.
Thanks for the coverage.
