Here are a few mid-week Tompkins Square red-tailed hawk fledgling highlights. Fledgling #3 is still receiving care at WINORR, and the rest of the family seems to be doing okay.
This fledgling spent some time swooping back and forth across the skateboard area on the north side of the park.
It kept trying (and failing) to grab squirrels that were foraging under some bushes.
Swooping again...
Buzzing one of the skateboarders, LOL.
And swooping again back towards me. The hawk did this several times before moving on to a different part of the park.
These youngsters attract admirers where ever they go.
The hawks are looking good and I'll post as soon as I have an update on the one that's currently with WINORR.
Stay tuned...
