M2 and Amelia highlights

Below are a few photos of M2 and Amelia from the last few days. Everything seems to be going ok with them, which is great.

This is M2 perched on a lamp post as he hunted for prey within the park.

He soon spotted something and took off.

I was unable to find him after he took off this time, but on another afternoon, I caught him with the remains of a rat.

He delivered the leftovers to Amelia.

After dropping off her dinner, he took off again to find something for himself.

You can see her full crop in the photo below (the bulge in her throat). Both hawks seem to be eating well.

Later, she perches in her favorite locust tree.

As spring progresses and the leaves grow in on the trees, it becomes harder to see the hawks as they fly around the park. The church crosses are always a good place to look for them as they provide perfect perching places for the birds. The roof of the Christodora is also a popular hawk-perching spot.
