Engine 55

I've taken many photos of this fire station on E Broome because it's so eye-catching and beautiful. However, I'm never satisfied and I think I know why....no matter at what angle I stand, how far away, or time of day or night, there is no escaping that godawful air-conditioner. It is the big ugly fly on this otherwise appetizing cherry pie of a building.

  1. East Broome like by the bridge? It looks REALLY pretty now. But then it was just another dirty firehouse and I loved it. The Avenue A bus's last stop was there and I'd walk down Broome to home. I always wanted to live in it. still do...

  2. This is west of Bowery, near Elizabeth. It's in that area that feels flat and dusty...this is definitely the most lively structure on that stretch.
