First glimpse of Tompkins Square red-tail nestling

It's been just over a week since red-tailed hawks, Christo and Amelia, had a hatch in Tompkins Square, and today was the first day I've been able to catch a glimpse of a nestling.

It's difficult to see, but there is a tiny dinosaur-like head visible between Amelia's legs in the photo below. Its beak is pointing to the right.

The head is clearly visible in this photo:

Hello!

Amelia and her nestling

I'm hoping this little guy/gal has some siblings.  Over the next week or so, we should be able to know more about how many kids are in the nest.

UPDATE:  Urban Hawks confirms two chicks in the nest.
